Osensei Shoshin Nagamine wrote two books, and you can buy those right here on our site. Tales of Okinawa's Great Masters This book tells of the lives and histories of ten of Okinawa's greatest masters. Osensei Nagamine spent his life researching these masters, trained with them and/or interviewed their families and students. Along with lots of photographs and illustrations, you will read about, among others: Ankichi Arakaki, Gichin Funakoshi, Kanryo Higaonna, Anko Itosu, Chotoku Kyan, Kosaku Matsumora, Sokon Matsumura, Choki Motobu, and Tode Sakugawa. While it crosses over all karate styles, this book is required reading for students of Matsubayashi-Ruy, the style Osensei Nagamine founded in 1947. |
